Loch Ness, Glencoe & the Highlands
Edinburgh to the shores of Loch Ness by way of Glencoe's glacier-carved peaks, with time on the water and a whisky stop in the Trossachs.
Rob Roy country, the world’s largest horse sculptures and one of Scotland’s greatest castles, all in a single day with Drive Me Wild Scotland.
This is a day for lovers of Scottish legend and landscape. We start at the towering Kelpies, drive to the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, and cross the Trossachs, the “Highlands in miniature”, before finishing in historic Stirling, where so much of Scotland’s story was written. Along the way your driver-guide brings to life the tales of Rob Roy MacGregor and William Wallace. We keep vehicles small and the pace relaxed, so there is time to walk by the water, enjoy lunch in a pretty village and explore at your own speed.
Morning: Edinburgh to Falkirk and the Kelpies
We head west out of Edinburgh, passing Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. Our first stop is the Kelpies, two enormous horse heads that honour the working horses behind Central Scotland’s industrial growth.
Mid-morning: Balmaha, Loch Lomond
Next we reach Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest loch and the country’s first National Park. At Balmaha you can walk along the famous “bonny banks” and enjoy mountain views. This quiet corner was once home to the Highland folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor, so the trails here follow in the footsteps of a legend.
Afternoon: The Trossachs, Aberfoyle and Stirling
We drive through the Trossachs, where the Lowlands meet the Highlands, with steep hills, shining lochs and thick forest. Lunch is in Aberfoyle, a pretty village in the landscape that inspired Sir Walter Scott. We then continue to Stirling. You can enjoy the view from outside and wander the old town, or go inside the castle to see why it mattered so much in Scottish history.
Evening: Stirling to Edinburgh
A short drive takes us back past the Kelpies to Edinburgh, arriving at approximately 6:30pm.

Our driver-guide was exceptional! Travelling in a small executive group meant we could pull in at secluded Highland viewpoints the big 50-seater coaches couldn't reach. The local folklore through Glencoe made Scotland truly come alive.
A truly five-star experience from start to finish. The pace was relaxed and unhurried with ample time for photographs, lochside walks, and an authentic village lunch. Drive Me Wild Scotland exceeded every expectation!
First time exploring Scotland, and this tour made the whole trip unforgettable. Having an authentic Scottish driver-guide sharing personal stories and deep clan history made every mile fascinating. Spotless Mercedes mini-coach!
The scenery was breathtaking, and the small group atmosphere felt so welcoming. Our driver knew exactly where to stop for panoramic photos away from the crowds and gave great recommendations for the rest of our holiday.
